4 Kingdoms Halloween 2026: Our Family Visit, Scare Mazes & Pumpkin Picking

Gifted visit: We were kindly invited to 4 Kingdoms Adventure Park for their Halloween event. All opinions and experiences shared are our own.

Wind, rain, spooky characters and plenty of Halloween surprises! That pretty much sums up our latest family adventure at 4 Kingdoms Adventure Park near Thatcham.

We visited during October 2026 to experience the park’s Halloween celebrations, and although the British weather certainly wasn’t on our side, we still had a brilliant time exploring everything on offer.

From pumpkin picking and scare mazes to enormous Halloween displays and costumed characters wandering around the park, there was plenty to keep us entertained.

Located in Headley, on the Hampshire and Berkshire border, 4 Kingdoms is a great option for families looking for something a little different during the October half-term holidays.

Our Halloween Experience at 4 Kingdoms

One of the first things we noticed was just how much Halloween decoration there was around the park.

Rather than having everything concentrated in one small area, there were spooky displays and characters to discover as we explored.

Some of the decorations were enormous, making them particularly impressive to see up close and providing plenty of opportunities for photographs.

We also loved seeing the Halloween characters walking around the park. You never quite knew who you might encounter next, which made exploring even more entertaining!

Despite the occasional downpour and blustery conditions, the Halloween atmosphere made the visit enjoyable.

Pumpkin Picking and Halloween Displays

Pumpkin picking is one of those autumn activities that families look forward to every year, and 4 Kingdoms has its own pumpkin patch as part of the seasonal event.

Visitors can explore the patch and choose their pumpkins, with an additional charge for any pumpkins they decide to take home.

There are also plenty of Halloween decorations throughout the attraction, making it a lovely place to capture some seasonal family photographs.

It’s worth bringing suitable footwear, especially after rain, as some outdoor areas can become wet and muddy.

Scare Mazes and Halloween Characters

For families who enjoy something a little spooky, the Halloween scare mazes are another major attraction.

These add a different experience to an ordinary adventure park visit, particularly with Halloween characters appearing around the grounds.

We enjoyed seeing the effort that had gone into the displays and the characters’ costumes.

Our advice for families with younger children: Some Halloween characters and scare attractions may be frightening for little ones. It’s worth checking with staff which activities are suitable before entering.

For children who love Halloween and enjoy a few scares, there’s plenty to look forward to.

More Than Just a Halloween Event

One thing that makes 4 Kingdoms different from a traditional pumpkin patch is that it’s also a family adventure park.

Outside the Halloween activities, the park offers a variety of attractions, including:

  • Indoor soft play
  • Outdoor play areas
  • Dinosaur-themed attractions
  • An animal barn
  • Go-karts and other family activities
  • Train rides

The park advertises more than 20 play zones, although the availability of individual attractions can depend on the weather and the type of event ticket purchased.

With so much taking place outdoors, we would definitely recommend checking the forecast before visiting.

And if the weather turns, having a café and indoor soft play available is particularly handy.

Our Tips for Visiting With Children

After experiencing the Halloween event ourselves, here are a few things we’d recommend:

1. Dress for the weather. Many of the Halloween attractions are outdoors, so waterproof coats and suitable footwear are a good idea.

2. Book online where possible. Advance daytime tickets can be cheaper than paying on arrival.

3. Check which Halloween experience you’re booking. Daytime admission and Halloween Nights are different events.

4. Remember that pumpkins cost extra. If you’re planning to take one home, allow a little extra in your budget.

5. Check the scare attractions. Younger children may prefer the pumpkin patch and less frightening activities.

6. Bring socks for indoor soft play. The park requires socks and suitable clothing for certain play attractions.

Is 4 Kingdoms Halloween Worth Visiting?

For us, it was a really enjoyable family visit, even with the less-than-perfect weather!

What we particularly liked was the combination of traditional Halloween activities and the larger adventure park experience.

There were plenty of seasonal decorations to see, spooky characters wandering around and opportunities to explore different attractions.

The Halloween displays were especially impressive, and it was lovely to experience something different as a family.

Of course, much of the experience depends on the weather and which attractions are operating during your visit, so we’d recommend checking before setting off.

Would we recommend it? Yes! If you’re looking for a Halloween family day out near Hampshire or Berkshire, 4 Kingdoms is certainly worth considering.
